Idaho Wine Country: A friendly collaboration

with Alan Minskoff and Paul Hosefros

The Place: Cole/Marr Coffeehouse

The Time: Saturday, August 11th from 1-3

Writing is a solitary activity unless you’re fortunate enough to have a good friend who shares your love of the subject matter. In this case, it happens to be wine. Alan Minskoff and Paul Hosefros combined their mutual curiosity about wineries and vineyards in Idaho to fashion the Idaho Wine Country book. Visually and literally, this collaborative effort reflects all that they learned during 15 months of interviewing and photographing more than 50 winemakers and grape growers. Now, Idaho writers can learn, firsthand, the joys and challenges of producing a book that calls on a writer’s wordsmithing and a camera man’s sensitivity to light and color.

Alan teaches journalism and writing at the College of Idaho. He was a longtime editor of Boise Magazine and editorial director of the Boise Journal and Art Idaho magazines. He teaches in the Cabin’s Summer Writing Camp, and is a widely published poet.

Paul is a retired New York Times senior photojournalist. His base in Washington DC allowed him to create memorable shots of political leaders. He graduated from BSU with an MFA in Creative Writing in 2007.

Come early, browse the gallery and grab a pastry or refreshing drink at the Cole/Marr counter.

The authors will graciously sign any books purchased during this event.
