LUNCH WITH THE IDAHO WRITERS GUILD
*** Note ***
Literary lunch typically takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.  This is a special date for a visiting author.  There will be no luncheon in June.

Join the Idaho Writers Guild for Literary Lunch on July 1st with Guest Author David Schmahmann

Friday, July 1st, 11:30-1:30
Smoky Mountain Pizza, 415 E. Parkcenter Blvd., Boise

David Schmahmann is an award-winning author of multiple books (Empire Settings, Ivory from Paradise, Nibble & Kuhn); his awards include the John Gardner Fiction Book Award for “the most outstanding book of fiction published in 2001 by a small or university press.”  His latest release is The Double Life of Alfred Buber, a spellbinding literary novel with overtones likened to that of Nabokov’s Lolita.  Learn more about David at www.DavidSchmahmann.com.

Feel free to bring along business cards, flyers, or anything else you’d like to share with your fellow writers.  Also, we’ll be drawing 3 names to participate in a 3 minute open mic, so get writing!  All styles and genres are welcome, as long as the work is original and can be read in under 3 minutes.

Hope to see you on July 1st!

LUNCH WITH THE IDAHO WRITERS GUILD

Join the Idaho Writers Guild for Literary Lunch on May 17th with Special Guest Christine Echeverria Bender

Tuesday, May 17th, 11:30-1:30
Smoky Mountain Pizza, 415 E. Parkcenter Blvd., Boise

Christine Echeverria Bender writes historical fiction. Joining an archaeological team from the Smithsonian Institution in 2008, Christine helped uncover a 16th century Basque whaling site in Hare Harbour, Quebec at the edge of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Many ancient artifacts were found by the diggers on land as well as the dive team searching the depths of the chilly coastal water.  This wonderful experience and her earlier research helped enrich the story of her most recent novel The Whaler’s Forge.  Learn more about Christine at www.ChristineBender.com

Hope to see you on the 17th!

Remember, IWG has a luncheon the THIRD TUESDAY of each month at Smoky Mountain Pizza on Parkcenter. It’s an opportunity to network with other writers and find out what’s happening in your literary community.
