National Poetry Month

There’s a week left in National Poetry Month and still many ways to celebrate.  Here’s what’s happening in Boise:

Tuesday, April 26, 2pm-4pm, “Afternoon with a Poet” – Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Yanke Research Center, 220 Park Center Blvd. (former Ore-Ida HQ) – $10 fee (Register: 426-4027)

Wednesday, April 26, 7pm-9pm “Readings & Conversations” with U.S. Poet Laureate W.S. Merwin, Egyptian Theater; 6 pm – Reception, Beside Bardenay. (Tickets: 331-8000)

Thursday, April 28, at 1pm, “The Writers’ Block” on Boise Community Radio (89.9FM):  Host Amanda Turner interviews Joan Logghe, the Poet Laureate of Santa Fe.  For details visit www.RadioWritersBlock.com.   

Thursday, April 28, 6:30pm-8pm – Joan & Jon: Poetry and Music by Joan Logghe and Jon Klein – Shangri-La Tea House, Overland and Federal Way – free.

Friday, April 29, 7pm-8:30pm – Joan Logghe reads from her new book, “The Singing Bowl” at Rediscovered Book Store, 180 N. 8th St. – free.

Saturday, April 30, 1 pm-3pm – “Random Readings” sponsored by the Idaho Writers Guild – Joan Logghe and Maya Jewell Zeller read work and discuss the art and craft of creating poetry – The Cabin, 801 S. Capitol Blvd. – free (info: 331-8000)
